• What is PDF file format?

Portable Document Format (PDF) is an open standard for document exchange.
This file format is used for representing documents in a manner independent of application software, hardware, and operating systems.

Fonts, pictures, color space, display settings and all linked content are embedded in one single file, without any risks of content modification on opening. This file format is used for representing documents in a manner independent of application software, hardware, and operating systems.

You can easily open and print PDF documents using any of the free PDF readers available on Internet.
If you have no PDF reader, you may want to install Adobe Reader.

• What are the advantages of downloading PDF files?

There is a lot of advantages!
• You save on shipping cost, all downloads are free shipping.
• You do not have to wait for a parcel, we offer instant downloads.
• You can print from your own printer or find a print shop.
• You can print an unlimited number of sheets when needed.
• You can print on the paper or cardboard of your choice.
• You might be able to adjust colors with printer's options.
• You can adjust the size of the pattern by modifying the print setup percentage.
• We can modify the image if you are not satisfied (when possible).

• Will I be able to print as many sheets I want?

Yes, once you saved your PDF file on your computer, you can print as long as you have your PDF file.

If for any reason you deleted your PDF file, contact us and we will resend your download link.

• What can I do if I need to adjust colors of my prints?

You can modify color settings of your printer to adjust contrast and colors of your prints. These options will vary from printer models so we are not able to list all procedures.
Most of time these special color options can be reached via the Print Setup dialog box.

• How to make sure my printer will give good results prior to buy?

For all our printable products, you can click on the "PDF Preview" button to get a sample page of what you will get.

Once your customized PDF file was generated, you just have to save this PDF preview on your hard disk to test the color rendering and the resolution of your printer. Make sure you selected the finest quality setting of your printer and the highest dpi available.

• Is it possible to order your printable products on a CD-Rom?

Unfortunately we do not sell or distribute our printable products on CD-Rom. We did it in the past and we had a lot of problem with violation of our copyrights.

• My printer does not give a good print quality, what can I do?

Make sure you selected the finest quality setting of your printer and the highest dpi available. If you think we can help to improve the result by modifying the texture itself, just let us know and we will generate a new PDF file for you. Please describe in your message what kind of improvements you need (contrast, etc).

• Which kind of paper do you recommend for my prints?

We recommend to use acid free paper (or cardboard) to prevent your prints from turning yellow after some months.

If you use an inkjet printer, use inkjet paper. If you use laser printer, use laser paper.
To obtain the highest print quality, we also recommend to buy the high-quality matte paper specifically sold for your printer model.

• Can I resell or share your downloadable files?

No, all our downloadable and printed products are copyright protected.

When you buy downloadable files or order prints, you do not become the owner of the product, however this grants you a limited license to use this product for - and only for - your personal usage. It is prohibited to share, sell, distribute, publish, reproduce or transfer in any form or by any means digital files or copies of this product, even in a modified form or for a different usage.

Copyright infringement is a violation of federal law subject to criminal and civil penalties.

• I did not received my download links

Most of time, this is because the messages sent by our system were classified as spam by your mail provider, therefore please check the content of your spam folder. To make sure you will receive all emails related to your orders, you can add our email addresses to your authorized senders: noreply@miniature-planet.com and info@miniature-planet.com.

However, if you did not received our emails, another way to download your PDF files is to log to your account (or your temporary account for guest customers). When logged in, go to your order history page, then open the order detail page where you will find a download link for each PDF file.

If you can't find our email messages in your spam folder or if you are not able to log to your account, please contact us and we will resend your download link.

• I bought as "guest" but I need a password download my file?

When you place an order as guest, our system creates a temporary account for you with the password "miniatureplanet". Use this password to download your files.

This temporary account gives you the ability to follow your order and/or download your files directly from our website (useful if you did not received the download email).

Your temporary account is deactivated when your order is completed (or after 30 days).

If you want to turn this temporary account to a permanent account, all you have to do is to log to your temporary account and modify the temporary password for your own value.

• I am no more able to download my PDF file

When you buy a downloadable file, there is a time limit and a number of downloads allowed. You have seven days or six downloads for each file and you will not be able to download your file when one of these restrictions will be reached.

• I need a model scale that is not on your list, can you help me?

Yes, send us a message and we will add your scale if possible for this product.

• I need a color variation that is not available, can you help me?

Yes, send us a message. If needed, you can find and include your color matching code (#xxxxxx) using this Color Wheel Tool

• I am searching a texture you do not offer, can you help me?

Yes, send us a message and let us know what you are searching and we will see if we can add this new texture in our library. If you need to send us reference pictures, please send them to info@miniature-planet.com.

• Does your prints have a shiny or glossy finish?

No, we print on matte papers but dark areas can be slightly shiny, due to the amount of toner on the sheet. If needed you can always spray a few very thin coats of clear matt varnish on your sheets.

• Can I spray a matte varnish on your prints?

Yes, but you have to do it very carefully, by successive and very thin layers. Otherwise, you might see the details of your prints become a little blurred.

• Can I add details to your prints (as an aging effect)?

Yes you can, using an airbrush, chalks or specialty pencils.
This ability will be affected by the darkness of your pattern and the ink density on your print.

• What kind of printer is used for your printed products?

We use color laser printing, to prevent any decoloration when printed sheets are exposed to UV rays.

• Which kind of glue do you recommend?

If you did not ordered self-adhesive sheets, we recommend to use spray glue for maximum durability. If you never experimented this kind of glue, we suggest to make some tests prior to glue your product because this is a permanent glue and you will not be able to reposition your print after it has been glued.

• Can I use your prints outside?

No, except if you laminate them with a thin plastic film.
Only our backdrops banners can be used outdoor.

• If I am ordering the same product in two different orders, may I expect to get exactly the same colors?

No, unfortunately we can't guaranteed that colors of your printed product will be the same.
There is a lot of factors that affects the color like ambient humidity, paper used, ink level, etc.

In top of that, we have to say that we continuously improve texture quality, definition and rendering, therefore sometimes the original picture can have been retouched between two different orders.

• What are "preorders" (pre-orderable products)?

Preordered items are those are made-on-demand, when they are not in stock. Some products are pre-orderable, even if they are in stock, so you can order more than currently available quantity.

• When will my backorder arrive (preorders)?

We may need up to seven days to create your hand-made products. but as soon as they are done, we will be able to ship your package.

• Can I find your products in a hobby store?

No, for the moment we are not selling our products anywhere else and have no distributors.

• Do you have a product catalogue?

Unfortunately we do not have any products catalogue for the moment but we have the project to publish a catalogue in PDF format in a few months.
