How to

calculate your model scale

Calculating your model scale ratio allows you to shrink an object, yet keep all of its properties in a similar ratio as when it is normal size. For being able to use our website properly, you will have to know your model scale ratio.

Follow these easy steps to find your model scale

1) Measure one feature from the model for which you can find the actual measurements.

For example, you made an miniature house with a door height of 1.5 inches. In real life, this kind of door should measures 7 feet.

2) Convert these dimensions in the same measurement units.

In this example, you will obtain 1.5 inches and 84 inches (7 feet).

3) Divide the length of the real object by the length of the model.

In this example, you will divide 84 by 1.5, to get a result of 56.

4) Determine the scale with the expression 1:X, where X is the result from last step.

In this example, the calculated model scale would be 1:56.

Now you can use this ratio to calculate the dimensions of all elements of your model scale layout.
This will also be the model scale to select when you navigate our website (or the nearest available value).
Happy modeling :)
